Abstract::
      In recent years, with the increasingly well-established control of occupational exposure caused by artificial radiation sources, the occupational exposure arising from existing exposure situation including natural radiation sources has attracted considerable attention, especially the exposure of aircrew to cosmic radiation. The average annual effective dose to aircrew is significantly higher than to the traditional radiation workers, like those in medical uses of radiation, industrial uses of radiation, the nuclear fuel cycle, and others. The health effects of aircrew caused by the cumulative radiation dose is worthy of attention. With focus on the latest advancements and current status in the management of occupational exposure and health of aircrews, this special issue reports the related research outcomes of occupational exposure arising from cosmic radiation in civil aviation field and summarize the research advancement in health effects and radiation protection. This paper gives brief analysis, summary and suggestion of the work related to occupational exposure and health management of aircrew. The aim is to further strengthen the regulatory control of occupational exposure of aircrew and promote the inclusion of such exposure in the list of occupational disease hazards, so as to better protect the occupational health of aircrew and contribute to the construction of "Healthy China" program.
