Abstract::
      Objective To estimate the internal doses to the local residents due to ingestion of 210Po by determining the activity concentrations of 210Po in the diets of the residents of Fuzhou.Methods With reference to the food list of the total diet study, a total of 120 food samples were collected from 7 groups of foods consumed daily by the residents from medium and large-sized supermarkets in Fuzhou, encompassing grains, meat, eggs, milk, aquatic products, fruits and vegetables. The activity concentration of 210Po in foods was measured using alpha spectrometry based on the method of silver disc-spontaneous deposition. And then the internal dose was estimated.Results The activity concentrations of 210Po in different food groups in the diets of Fuzhou residents ranged from detection lower limit(DLL) to 48.816 Bq/kg. The committed effective dose from 210Po was estimated to be 437.13 μSv, with the aquatic products contributing the largest dose, accounting for 86.93%.Conclusions The committed effective dose to the Fuzhou residents due to ingestion was lower than the IAEA reference value.
