Abstract::
      Objective To investigate the effect of resveratrol on IL-1β production in mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) exposed to radiation and evaluate the radioprotective effect of resveratrol. Methods MSCs were divided into non-treated control group, irradiated group and resveratrol-treated group where resveratrol with different dosage of 50, 100 and 200 μmol/L was administrated to MSCs before irradiation. The expressions of IL-1β mRNA and protein were detected using real time PCR, ELISA, and Western blot, respectively. Results Compared to the irradiation group, pretreatment of cell with resveratrol reduced the external secretion of IL-1β (t=83.34, 24.48, 12.52, P<0.05) as well as the intracellular expression of IL-1β protein and mRNA (t=8.70,14.77,13.90, P<0.05).Conclusions Resveratrol could inhibit the induction of inflammatory factor IL-1β in the irradiated MSCs.
