Objective To investigate the difference of Gadd 45 expression in healthy population, and to evaluate the possibility of developing Gadd 45 expression into a new radiation bio-dosimeter. Methods Twenty blood samples from healthy population were collected and the total RNA was extracted from white blood cells and reverse transcribed into cDNA. The method of real-time PCR was used to detect the different level of Gadd 45 expression in human population, with β-actin as an internal control. Results There was a significant difference in Gadd 45 expression among 20 subjects. In addition, the difference was irrelevant to the sex. Conclusion The expression of irradiation-inducible gene Gadd 45 might not be a good bio-dosimeter. |
