Abstract:: |
Objective To investigate the biodistribution and scintigraphy of Lewis carcinoma of mice with 131I-chTNT combined with or without irradiation, and to study the effects on the tumor growth of mice. Methods When the tumor size in C57 mice bearing Lewis carcinoma in the right leg was big enough, the mice were randomly divided into different groups to receive different treatment. The biodistribution and scintigraphy of 131I-chTNT were observed at various time after tail-intravenous injection in tumor-bearing mice. The effect of treatment was assessed by tumor growth delay. Results The uptake of 131I-chTNT in tumor tissue was significantly higher in combined group than in 131I-chTNT group (P<0.05) and there were no more side effects in the combined group(P>0.05). The scintigraphy result showed higher tumor accumulation of 131I-chTNT in combined group than that in 131I-chTNT group. The absolute growth delay for irradiation group, 131I-chTNT group and the combined group was 9.1, 3.1 and 13.1 days, respectively. The nominal growth delay was 10 days, and the enhancement factor of 131I-chTNT for RT was 1.08. Conclusions 131I-chTNT combined with irradiation can increase the uptake of 131I-chTNT in tumor without side effects. 131I-chTNT can enhance the radiotherapeutic effect for tumor-bearing mice. |
