Abstract:: |
Objective To estimate biological dose of victims in Harbin Accident of 192Ir source. Methods Peripheral blood lymphocytes of the victims were cultured using conventional culture medium with colchicine added at the beginning. Unstable chromosome aberrations were scored and biological doses was estimated according to the dose_effect curves developed by our lab. Results The biological doses of six victims ranged from 0.35 to 1.60 Gy, which was consistent with the results of clinical diagnoses,while the frequencies of chromosome aberrations for another 9 victims were within the normal range. Conclusions Biological doses of victims in Harbin Accident were precisely assessed by analysis of chromosome aberrations. |
