Abstract:: |
Objective To study the protective effect of 5,10,15,20-tetrakis (4hydroxyphenyl) porphyrin (THP) on endothelial cell of vein-304 (ECV-304) exposed to electromagnetic pulse (EMP). Methods MTT method was used to determine the optimal concentration of THP toxicity reaction for ECV-304 cells, and then used this concentration in the protection test. Chemiluminescence was used to measure the radioprotective effect of THP on ECV-304 cells exposed to varying intensity of EMP at 100,200, or 400 kV/m. ANOVA and independent samples t-test were used to analyze the data. Results The optimal concentration of THP for ECV-304 cells was estimated to be 0.01 μg/ml.The chemiluminescence intensities of ECV-304 cells administered with THP were statistically significantly lower than those in the control group. Conclusion This study suggested that 5,10,15,20-tetrakis (4hydroxyphenyl) porphyrin at 0.01 μg/ml can exert radioprotective effect of certain extent. |
