Abstract:: |
Objective To evaluate the clinical application of the dose reduction scan mode in examination of female pelvis using 16-slice spiral CT.Methods Thirty volunteers were chosen to perform female pelvis examination with the 16-slice spiral CT.Two scan modes were applied including dose reduction spiral CT examination(Care Dose)and conventional spiral CT examination.The quality of female pelvis images was compared by grain homogeneity,fine structure,clearness of tissue interface and artifacts.The radiation dose of CT examination was also compared between the two scan modes.Results The quality of female pelvis images was not different;but the radiation dose was reduced more by the dose reduction scan mode compared with that by the conventional scan mode(P<0.01).Conclusion The dose reduction scan mode can reduce more radiation dose than the conventional one,while its image quality is the same in examination of female pelvis using 16-slice spiral CT. |
