Abstract::
      Objective To investigate the morphological changes of rat lung exposed to high power microwave(HPM). Methods Scanning electron microscopy and light microscopy were employed to investigate the morphological changes of rat lung at different time points after exposed to HPM. Results Obvious degeneration of alveolar epithelium and exfoliation of type I alveolar cells were found at 6 h after exposure.At 24 h after exposure, severely degenerated type I alveolar cells,disruption of alveoalr septum,interstial edema and infiltration of inflammatory cells in lung were detected.At 48 h after exposure,mild degeneration of alveolar epithelium was still found.Alveolar epithelium recovered basically d 7 after exposure. Conclusion Exposure to HPM results in obvious changes of pneumocytes and these damages recover slowly.
