Abstract:: |
Objective To observe the effect of carrageenan-derived oligosaccharides on T cell function and subsets in irradiated mice. Methods The carrageenan-derived oligosaccharides were applied to BALB/c mice for 14 successive days before and 7 days after whole body irradiation with 6.0 Gy X-rays. The transformation response of splenic lymphocyte,the expression of CD69 in thymocytes,IL-2,IFN-γ and TNF-α in T-cells of PBMC,and CD4+/CD8+ ratio of T lymphocytes were evaluated. Results The carrageenan-derived oligosaccharides increased ConA-stimulated transformation of splenic T lymphocytes of mice,characterized by marked up-regulation of CD69 expression in thymic lymphocytes,significantly enhanced the ability of PBMC to produce IL-2 and IFN-γ,decreased the expression of TNF-α in T-cells of PBMC,and over-expressed CD+ 4 in T lymphocytes,followed by increment in CD4+/CD8+ ratio of T lymphocytes. Conclusion Carrageenan-derived oligosaccharides can markedly adjust T cell function and subsets in irradiated mice. |
