Abstract:: |
Objective To explore the usage of FISH in retrospective biodosimetry for individuals who had chronically exposed to ionizing radiation. Methods Chromosomal aberrations from 22 occupational workers having exposed to X-ray radiation and from 10 controls were analysed using FISH with probes for chromosomes 1,4. Results The frequencies of translocation and total aberrations observed in X-ray workers were statistically higher than those of controls.The longer working time one had the higher frequency of translocation. Conclusion The results indicate it is possible that FISH can be used in retrospective biodosimetry for individuals who have chronically exposed to ionizing radiation. |
