Abstract:: |
Objective To study the expression and distribution of the haptoglobin in the bone marrow of irradiated mice and explore the relationship between haptoglobin and cell cycle or apoptosis. Methods RT-PCR and Western blot were adopted to respectively detect the changes of the haptoglobin at mRNA and protein levels. Flow cytometry (FCM) was applied to analyze the relation between cytoplasmic haptoglobin existence in bone marrow and cell cycle or apoptosis. Results The results showed that increased levels of haptoglobin mRNA and protein were present after irradiation. Results of FCM indicated there was difference in cell cycle between the cells with and without haptoglobin protein. Conclusion Haptoglobin might be involved in the repair process of radiation injury. |
