Objective To study the effect of irradiation or irradiaton combined with taxol on expression of antioncogene p57kip2 in nasopharyngeal carcinoma cells. Methods To test the expression of antioncogene p57kip2 by immunohistochemistry and Western blot before and after irradiation of the cells. Results The expression of p57kip2 protein was weak in nasopharyngeal carcinoma cells.Both in single irradiation group and in irradiation combined with taxol group,the expression of p57kip2 protein improved along with increase of dose and time length after irradiation(P<0.01).The expression of p57kip2 protein was stronger in the irradiation combined with taxol group than in the single irradiation group(P<0.01). Conclusion The up-regulation of expression of p57kip2 antioncogene may reflect the enhancement of radiosensitivity of the nasopharyngeal carcinoma cells induced by both single irradiation or irradiation combined with taxol. |
