| Objective To study the effect of radiation on expression of Bcl-2 and Bax proteins and the reason of recurrence in laryngeal carcinoma. Methods Laryngeal carcinoma tissues were obtained from 27 cases before after radiotherapy and after recurrence,and were stained by SP immunohistochemistry. Results Compared with the tissues before irradiation,the expression of Bcl-2 protein in laryngeal carcinoma is decreased significantly(P<0.01),and that of Bax protein increased significantly (P<0.05) after radiotherapy. There was a significant relation between expression of Bax after radiotherapy and the recurrence time after radiotherapy (P<0.05). Conclusion There are close relationships between expressions of Bcl-2 and Bax and apoptosis in laryngeal carcinoma after radiotherapy,as well as between expression of Bax and the recurrence time. |
