Abstract:: |
Objective To evaluate the effect of transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE)on AFP mRNA in peripheral blood of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC). Methods Real time RT-PCR was used to detect AFP mRNA expression in peripheral blood of 24 patients with HCC before and after TACE. Results The expression level of AFP mRNA in peripheral blood of the 24 HCC patients averaged (133 074.6± 27 163.7) copies/μgRNA before TACE treatment and(2076.0±423.8)copies/μgRNA, (1774.5±362.2)copies/μgRNA; (23 650.4± 4827.6)copies/μgRNA at 24 hours, 1 month and 2 months after TACE. Conclusion The expression of AFP mRNA is significantly reduced after TACE and it can be used as a marker for evaluating the treatment efficacy for hepatocellular carcinoma. |
