Abstract:: |
Objective To study the difference between the two dosimetry protocols: IAEA Technical Report Series No. 277, Absorbed Dose Determination in Photon and Electron Beams, an international Code of Practice and China Radiotherapy Dosimetry Code issued by China Ministry of Health and Bureau of Metrology in 1984. Methods Theoretical calculation and experimental measurement were used to compare the differences results of absorbed dose from 4 high energy photon beams. Results For most conventional ionization chambers, the difference in results was within 1%, but the difference was close to 1. 5% for one ionization chamber. Conclusion Subject to the two dosimetry codes difference in measured absorbed dose is within 1. 5%. It is better to follow the new IAEA dosimetry protocol in China. |
