Abstract::
      Objective To establish a metastatic model of human lung carcinoma induced by α particles in nude mice. Methods A total of 9 BALB/C nude mice (5-6 weeks old) was inoculated subcutaneously (SC) with human tumor cell line BERP35T4.The tumor nodules developed from the nude mice were passaged for 3 times in nude mice via orthotopic implantation of histologically intact tissues. Results (1)Four of 9 nude mice developed (44.4%)neoplasm at the initial inoculation site.(2)one of four nude mice with neoplasm (25%) presented subcutaneous and lung metastasis.(3)Tumor tissue isolated from nude mice was characterized as squamous epithelial carcinoma with low differentiation.(4)CK3 and EMA staining were positive in cancer cells. Conclusion {A metastatic } model of human lung carcinoma induced by α particles in nude mice has been established via orthotopic implantation of histologically intact tissues.
