Abstract::
      Objective To explore the molecular biological mechanism of carcinogensis by mixed fission products. Methods Effects of DNA single-strand breaks of peripheral blood lymphocytes in rats induced by internal exposure with mixed fission products were analyzed by alkaline single cell gel electrophoresis assay. Results It was found that fission-debris nuclides caused increase of percentage of cells with migrated DNA, and DNA migration length in the lymphocytes showed a dose-dependent manner. Conclusion The results suggest that comet assay can be applied to monitor DNA single-strand breaks induced by internal exposure.
