Abstract::
      Objective To establish the dose-effect curve of micronuclei for human peripheral blood lymphocytes after irradiation with heavy ion beams 12C6+ . Methods Heparinized whole blood samples were irradiated with heavy ion beams 12C6+, having 2 different dose-rate values (dose-rate=1 Gy/min and 3 Gy/min, mean LET=36 70 keV/μm), accelerated by a Heavy Ion Research Facility in Lanzhou at the Institute of Modern Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences.Micronuclei in binuclear lymphocytes (CB method) were scored. Results At the absorbed dose range of 0-6 Gy, the CB micronucleus frequency increased with the increase of absorbed dose.The best-fitted equation is Y=665 09×D0 .85 . Conclusion At the absorbed dose range of 0-6 Gy, the relationship between absorbed dose and micronucleus frequency of human peripheral blood lymphocytes induced by heavy ion beams 12C6+ is exponential.
