Abstract::
      Objective To study the therapeutic effects of Liang Jin mushroom polysaccharide(LJPS)on hematopoietic function and its mechanism in radiation-injured mice. Methods Colony-forming ability of hematopoitic progenitors, colony-forming unit-spleen(CFU-S), number of nucleated cells in bone marrow and spleen index were used to investigate the effects of LJPS on hematopoietic function of mice irradiated with 5.5 Gy 60 Co γ-rays and immunohistochemical technique was used to detect the bcl-2 protein in murine bone marrow and spleenic mononuclear cells. Results LJS could markedly enhance the prolifertion of hematopoietic progenitors and stromal cells in bone marrow of mice irradiated with 5.5 Gy 60 Co γ-rays.On the 14th day after irradiation, compared with the negative control group, CFU-S, spleen index, number of nucleated cells in bone marrow increased markedly in LJPS group, On days 3, 7 and 14, bcl-2 protein level elevated markedly in the LJPS group. Conclusion LJPS has therapeutic effects on irradiated hematopoietic system in mice, and its mechanism is associated with up-regulation of bcl-2 protein in BM and spleen.
