Abstract::
      Objective To study the relationship between cellular proliferation and the reduction of dermal fibroblasts in wounds combined with totalbody irradiation (TBI) injury.Methods We determined the amount of dermal fibroblasts in wounds of rats using histological method,and detected the expression of proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA),cyclin E and cyclindependent kinase 4 (CDK4) with immunohistochemistry method.Results The amount of dermal fibroblasts in wounds combined with TBI injury was significantly less than that of simple incision injury on the 5th,7th and 10th day,and there was a delay of the peak period.The contents of PCNA and CDK4 in wounds combined with TBI injury decreased significantly as compared with those of simple incision injury on the 3thth and 7th day.The contents of cyclin E in wounds combined with TBI injury were also lower than those of simple incision injury on the 3th,5th,7th and 10th day.Conclusion TBI injury suppresses cell transition from G1 into S phase,inhibits the proliferation of fibroblasts,causing reduction of the amount of dermal fibroblasts in wounds.This may be an important reason why wound heals more slowly when combined with TBI injury.
