Abstract:: |
Objective To determine elemental concentrations in main organs and tissues of Chinese adult man and to estimate their organ and tissue contents in order to provide bases for development of relevant parameters for the Chinese Reference Man and related current data in China for research on relationship between trace elements and health. Methods Muscle,rib,liver,kidney,lung and thyroid samples in autopsy from 31 subjects died suddenly,who were healthy and normal before death,were collected from 4 provinces or citics with different dietary types in China (Hebei,Shanxi,Shanghai and Sichuan),The concentrations of 42 elements were analyzed by using NAA,ICP-MS,ICP-AES,several AAS techniques and necessary QC measures.With uses of the relevant organ or tissue weights for Chinese Reference Man,their contents were estimated. Results The concentrations of I in thyroid, 40 elements in other 5 organs or tissues and Li in rib for these Chinese adult men and their organ or tissue contents were obtained. Conclusion Besides updating the relevant data of 15 elements,this research also obtained data on concentrations and their contents of other 27 elements in the organs and tissues for the first time in China.The results provide quite systematic bases for developing the parameters of Chinese or Asian Reference Man.The results were compared with recent reference data of China and the new estimated values for theses parameters of ICRP Reference Man in literature,and relative distributions of elemental concentration and their regional differences were discussed. |
