Abstract:: |
Objective To determine the relationship between Bcl-2 and p53 gene expression and radiation sensitivity according to the biologic character of laryngeal carcinoma. Methods Using monoclonal antibody for Bcl-2 and p53 gene protein, 70 cases of laryngeal carcinoma were studied by immunohistochemical DACO CSA System method.Bcl-2 and p53 gene expressions were divided into 3 levels:intense, moderate and negative.The relationship between expression intensity and radiation sensitivity was tested by Cramer method. Results There was relationship between each gene expression and radiation sensitivity.The correlation between cooperative expression and radiation sensitivity was higher than that of individual expression. Conclusion There is significant relationship between Bcl-2 and p53 gene cooperative expression and radiation sensitivity.The Bcl-2 and p53 gene cooperative expression can serve as criteria in predicting efficacy of radiation therapy, prognosis of laryngeal carcinoma and guiding clinical treatment. |
