| Objective To investigate the effect of bone morphogenetic proteins-2m (rhBMP-2m)on hematopoietic type of acute radiation sickness in mice. Methods rhBMP-2m was obtained from E.coli by molecular biological method.In this study the effect of rhBMP-2m on hematopoiesis was detected post irradiation and the 30 days survival rates were observed. Results Mice of the irradiation control group died in 30 days.The survival rate of rhBMP-2m treated mice was higher than that of the GMCSF treated ones ( P <0.05).The effect of thBMP-2m on the survival of mice after 7.0 Gy irradiation was that 40% of mice survived after i.p.injection with 0.25 mg, but in GMCSF group i.p.injection of 300 ng was needed. Conclusion These data support our hypothesis that rhBMP-2m can be used to treat the hematopoietic type of acute radiation sickness. |
