Abstract::
      Objective To find genes differentially expressed in intestinal epithelial cells (IECs) induced by radiation so as to elucidate the molecular mechanism of intestinal type of radiation sickness. Methods mRNA differential display was used to study the difference of expressed genes in IESs in normal and irradiated mice 3h after exposure to 12 Gy γ-rays,then differentially expressed gene was cloned and dot blot hybridization was carried out to confirm its identification. Results A differentially expressed gene induced by radiation was successfully cloned. Conclusion mRNA differential display can fully reflect the difference in expressed genes between normal and radiation injured IECs.Therefore,large-scale screening and identification of differentially expressed genes are conducive to the revealment of the molecular mechanism of IECs damage due to ionizing radiation.
