Abstract:: |
Objective sOur studies were aimed at providing a basis for effective therapeutic strategy against fibrosis using cytokines through observing the effects of interferon (IFN-r) and dexamathasone (dexa) on growth of normal and interleukin1(IL-1)stimulated fibroblasts. Methods BZ]MTT colorimetry, a silver colloid technique to identify nucleolar organizer regions (AgNORs) and immunohistochemical methods were used to study the effects of the two inhibitors on growth of fibroblasts. Results Growth, proliferation activity, synthesis of AgNORs and expression of collagen type in normal and IL-1stimulated fibroblasts were depressed evidently by IFN-r at 250103 U/L and dexa at 100g/L. Conclusions The authors believe that IFN-r and dexa at certain concentrations can inhibit obviously the growth, proliferation, AgNORs synthesis and collagen type expression of IL-1stimulated fibroblasts. |
