Abstract::
      Objective To study the changes in expression of TCR,CD3 CD4 and CD8 molecules on thymocytes following irradiation with low dose X-rays before a challenge dose in mice. Methods Kunming mice were irradiated with 0.075 Gy (conditioning dose) 6 hours before 1.5 Gy irradiation (challenge dose).The expression of TCR,CD3,CD4 and CD8 were analyzed by flow cytometry 18 hours after 1.5 Gy irradiation. Results It was found that the TCR+,CD3+,CD4-CD8+,CD4+CD8- and CD4-CD8 + positive cells were decreased significantly after only 1.5 Gy irradiation.However,the extent of depression of TCR +,CD3+,CD4+CD8+,CD4+CD8- and CD4-CD8+ was diminished when a dose of 0.075 Gy was given 6 hours before 1.5 Gy.The results suggest that pre irradiation with 0.075 X-rays can significantly reduce the damage of thymocytes and the matured subsets induced by 1.5 Gy iradiation. Conclusion The results indicate that adaptive response of TCR+,CD3+,CD4 +CD8 +,CD4+CD8- and CD4-CD8+ subsets of thymocytes can be induced by whole body irradiation with 0.075 Gy X-rays.
