Abstract:: |
Objective To explore the radioprotective effcets of elemene on spleen lymphocyte subsets of mice and the relationship between dose and effect, and its regulation.Methods The spleen lymphocytes in mice were separated into L3T4, Lyt2 and B cells after fractional irradiation by a panning method with monoclonal antibodies, and the effects of elemene on function and regulation of lymphocyte subsets were studied by using 3 H TdR incorporation. The SOD activety and LPO content were measured as well.Results Elemene could increase the radiation resistance of lymphocyte subsets of 2.5Gy(0.5Gy×5d) group, enhance the auxiliary effects of L3T4 on B cell, increase spleen SOD activity and decrease LPO content. Not such effect were observed in 4Gy(0.8Gy×5d) and 5Gy(0.5Gy×10d) gyoups.Conclusion The mechanism of protection of elemene in limied dose range may be due to its scavenging free radicals and relieving the damage of target cells. |
