Abstract:: |
Objectives To quantitatively measure the morphometric parameters of the strutural changes in rat thyroid irradiated with 131I .Methods By using a computerized image analysis system and the stereological method, some morphometric parameters at glandular and cellular levels including two and three dimensions can be measured successfully.Results Some morphometric parameters were gradually decreased or increased with the increase of 131I dose level.Conclusions Compared with the control group, even though there was no obvious changes in growth and function of the thyroid irradiated with low level 131I , the response of morphometric parameters was in good relationship with dose.Among the parameters, the volume density of colloid(Vvc) changed obviously and the values of D25 and D50 were the lowest. |
