Abstract::
      Objective This article summarizes the six years' observation and follow up of the five cases of bone marrow form of acute radiation sickness (2 of severe degree and 3 of moderate degree) who survived from Shanghai 60Co radiation accident in order to inquire into the delayed consequences of radiation, and its relationship to the irradiation dose.Methods Systematic observations of clinical manifestations, hematopoietic function, chromosomal aberrations, immunologic neurological, endocrinological, reproductive functions, eye examination, asssay of HPRT gene mutation and detection of oncogenes were performed in the past six years.Results Varying degrees of radiation lesions in the above aspects were found in these patients.Some of the lesions were related to the irradiation dose.Conclusion These results provide not only scientific basis for patients' medical treatment and health care, but also reliable information for further study of the delayed consequences of bone marrow form of acute radiation sickness and accumulate a lot of data.
