Objective Early and rapid judgement of the severity of injury inflicted on a patient irradiated in an 192Ir accident and the whole body dose.Methods Using the tissue-air ratio method,the dose distribution in the trunk,hand and leg was measured and using watch ruby as an accident dosimeter the dose to the hand was estimated.Results The dose distributions in the hand and leg are given.The hematopoietic stem cell survival weighted whole body dose is 2.9Gy,and the dose to the wrist by watch ruby is 14.2Gy.Conclusion The whole body dose is moderate,inducing moderate degree acute radiation sickness while the hand and leg received local high dose. |
