Abstract:: |
This paper reports on the concentrations of tritium in water (tap water, river and lake water etc), air. region and foodstuff samples collected from Shanghai rain. From these measurements, levels of population dose due to tritium were estimated. The average 3H concentration is 1.19 Bq. L-1 in drinking water, l.54Bq. L-1 in river and lake water,0.63Bq. M-3 in air and 3.69Bq. L-1 in rain, and all of them are in the normal range. The average 3H concentration in the free water of food is 4.11Bq. L-1 and the specific activity in the tissue-bound 3H is 28.44Bq. L-1,6.9 times higher than that in the free water tritium of food. The committed dose equivalent based on the measurements is 0.24 μSv, and 50o% of the committed dose equivalent comes from food. |
