Abstract:: |
in this article the in vitro effect of selenium on T lymphocyte transformation and NK cell activity in patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC)after radiotherapy is reported.The results showed that sodium selenite(4.34×10-7 mol/L)significantly enhanced the lymphocyte transformation in response to PHA; the uptake of 3HTdR increased by 78. 98±77. 60% as compared with that of controls(P<0.001).And in the presence of sodium selenite at that concentration,the NK cell activity increased markedly : the specific cytotoxic release of 3H- TdR increased from 27.90 ±9.22% to 34. 56±13.45%(P<0.05).It is suggested that selenium may be valuable in immunothetapy for NPC patients after radiotherapy. |
