Abstract:: |
Some organs or tissues often develop fibrosis after irradiation.In order to observe the role of fibroblasts in the process of radiation fibrosis,cultured Swiss 3T3 cells were used as a model system to examine the effects of γ-rays on the synthesis of type Ⅲcollagen.The cells were irradiated with different doses of γ-rays( 0-50Gy)or with a constant dose(30Gy)at different time intervals (1, 2, 3 day).The results show that radiation could increase the collagen synthesis(about 1.5~3 times) and the longer intervals were,the more collagen was synthesized. Ultrastructural examination of fibroblasts showed that the quantity of both ribosome and rough endoplasmic reticulum all increased markedly after irradiation. The content of collagen increased and the secretion of collagen-fibrils from fibroblasts were often observed, supporting the results mentioned above in morphology. |
