Abstract:: |
Using a 3H-TdR release assay,the effect of low dose gammaray irradiation on cytotoxicity of LAK cells against target tumor cells in vitro was observed.Peripheral blood lymphocytes from healthy blood donors were cultured with rIL-2 for 96h to obtain LAK effector cells. LAK cells with different culture times(24, 48, 72h)were exposed to various single dose gamma-ray irradiation (0.66, 1.31, 2.62, 5.24mGy) .This experiment demonstrated that low dose gamma-ray irradiation was able to enhance cytotoxic activity of LAK cells, and the most obvious enhancement of cytotoxicity was noted in the 72h experimental group.There were statistically significant differences between the experimental groups and the control group. The results suggest that there possibly exist hormetic effects of low dose irradiation on LAK cell cytotoxicity. |
