Abstract:: |
This paper reports on the combined effect of 239Pu and 90Sr on rats. 210 Wistar rats Were equally divided into 5 groups, with 24 male and 18 female rats in each group:group A(contr01), group B(90Sr nitrate 200μtCi/kg, i·P), group C (239Pu nitrate 5μCi/kg, i·P), group D(239Pu and”Sr, i·P), and group E (treated same as D plus an exposure to 2 Gy γ-rays). Results indicated that the combined effects of 239Pu and 90Sr were larger than the respective effects of each: (1)the incidences of osteosarcoma for groups D and E were 64.3%and 57.1%, respectively, but for groups B and C were 31%and 42.9%only(for group A 0%).In addition, the time of appearance of induced osteosareoma、in groups D and E was earlier than that in groups B and Cl (2)the average life-span in groups D and E was obviously shorter than that in groups B and C;and(3)the mortality in groupsD and E was higher than that in groups B and C. |
