Abstract:: |
The acute toxicity teats of a new chelating agent H-73-10 have been performed. Mice werc intxapcritoneally injected with this agent and its LD50(5) was found to be 7.05g/kg.The salve strain of mice were geven a dose of i14 LD50(5)v onec a day for successive seven days.Twenty-four hours after the last injection, the LD50(5) was found tobe 7.09g/kg;therefore.Ithasno cumulative toxicity.Its LD50(5) in rats was found to be 3.6g/kg, which is much lower than that in mice. The tests for its subacutc toxicity in rats, dogs, and monkeys demonstrated that an irritative reaction caused by thelocal concenutration of the agent was found at the injection sites.There were some gastrointestinal reactionsinthe animals of hizh dose group, while there were no obvious effects upon peripheral blood, hepatic and renal functions, and blood calcium and phosphorus contents. Pathological examination revealed brown pigment granules and vacuoles in the protoplasm of epithelial cells of the proximal convoluted Ieral, tubules, and toth of them were reversible.These experiments confirmed that this new chelating agent is of low toxicity. |
