Abstract::
      Employing a method of HClO4-H2O2 digestion and liquid scintillation counting, the distribution and retention of tritium in vari ous wet and dry routine tissues within 65 days after inttaperitoneal administration of tritiated water(THO)were investigated, and the radiation dose was。Estimated.HTO was distributed rapidly and uniformly in the whole body.About 1-3%of tritium was incorporated into various tissues as tisaue-bonnd tritium(TBT)after undergoing a accumulation process of about 1-3 days.The retention fraction curves for both total tritium in we;tissues and TBTin drytissuescould be generally expressed as two exponential components.The first biological half-life of total tritium is about 2 days.Under the experimantal condition, the radiation dose to vari-ous tissues during 65 days was about 0.8 rad per μCi/g.B.W., and the contribution of TBT was usually not more then 10% of total tritium.The behavior of tritium in fat tissues was different from that in other tissues.
