Abstract::
      The paper describes the background and its sources of a Ge(Li)detector system shielded by massive matter.Through the estimation and experimental tests for the sen.Sitivity of the system.It was shown that it was advantageous and necessary to adopt suitable massive shielding when using the detector to measure low-level radioaclive samples.
